ALAN MORLEY & FRIENDS - a Response to the Portrait and Human Figure

“The second in the series, the first being in November 2023, the ‘ALAN MORLEY and FRIENDS - a Response to the Portrait and Human Figure’ pulls together the naturally loose strands of creative people across Teesside who deal with the human form in their artistic practice. ‘Naturally loose’ refers to artists and craftspeople working often in isolation and this show galvanises those people who do not automatically work and socialise together.

Unlike the now commonly funded ‘call out’ artists receive on social media where upon they have to apply online for participation, often paying a submission fee, this exhibition of selected talent performs on a different basis. All of the participating artists have been invited by Alan Morley, who has come to know or be introduced to them, on the strength of a shared theme - the human figure in visual art.”
